#PretendCookingShow: Ice Cream. 🍨 #KitchenAidAmbassador We’re an ice cream family year round, but especially in the summer. 🥵🍦Ina has a home-run, can’t miss, absolutely DELICIOUS milk chocolate sandwich cookie ice cream (the recipe is from everyone’s favorite, Modern Comfort Food), but just for funsies we decided to make two, and found another winner: Balsamic Vinegar (in ice cream! I know, crazy) Lucky for us, with our @kitchenaidusa Stand Mixer Ice Cream Maker Attachment in the freezer, we can decide to make an old-stand-by, or a new favorite cold treat, any time we want, in under 30 minutes! (with a frozen ice cream bowl and fully prepped base). 🙌🍨 (Chef Note 🙋🏻♀️👩🏻🍳: I got fancy and sciency and made a combined base for two ice creams in this episode; Ina’s base recipe doesn’t use brown sugar as written. Forgive me, darling Barefoot.).Brown Sugar Balsamic Vinegar Ice Cream @dinnerwithjulieIngredients:• 1½ cups whipping cream• 1½ cups milk• 6 large egg yolks• ¾ cup (packed) dark brown sugar• 1 tsp good vanilla• ½ cup balsamic vinegar.Directions:1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together cream and milk until steaming.2. Meanwhile, whisk together yolks, sugar and vanilla.3. Gradually whisk some of the hot cream mixture into the yolk mixture to heat it up; return to the sauce pan. Stir over medium heat until custard thickens; strain through a sieve set over a bowl. Cover and refrigerate until well chilled.4. Simmer balsamic vinegar in a small saucepan until reduced to 2 Tbsp, ~6 mins. Cool syrup completely.5. Freeze custard in your @kitchenaidusa Ice Cream Maker Attachment according to instructions. When ice cream is done, spoon in balsamic syrup and churn 3-4 secs longer to swirl.6. Serve immediately or transfer to a container to freeze until solid.7. Yum

Thank you to every single person who showed up, cheered, donated, and ran (near or far!) to support @savethechildren and #67Strong4Kids. This movement started as a 67-day challenge, but it became so much more: a powerful reminder of what we can do when we move together for good. ♥️ Every step brings us closer to saving children from the brink of starvation. Thank you @becsgentry and @brooksrunning for helping make Sunday so special — a little ripple of goodness put into the world.

#PretendCookingShow: Dog & Cat Treats. 🐾 #KitchenAidAmbassador This is a very special episode focused on our furry friends— and a VERY EASY project to do with the kids in your life. Thanks to our trusty KitchenAid Go™️ Cordless appliances by @kitchenaidusa, we aren’t confined by cords and can have little hands help from wherever they are happiest. The best part about this recipe? 💯 satisfaction, guaranteed. 🐶♥️😺.Easy Homemade Dog Treats by @itdoesnttastelikechickenIngredients:• 2 cups oats• 2 medium ripe bananas• ½ cup natural peanut butter (single ingredient: peanuts).Directions:1. Preheat oven to 300℉. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.2. Add oats to your KitchenAid Go™️ Cordless Food Chopper and grind until they reach a fine powder. Add banana and peanut butter and blend until they form a sticky dough.3. Remove from food chopper and roll out on a lightly floured surface. Cut the treats in your desired shape and size. 🦴4. Lay treats on prepared baking sheet and bake for 25-30 mins until puffed up, dry and dark brown on the bottom. They will still feel soft when first removed from the oven but will get firmer once cool. Let cool before serving..Carrot and Catnip Treats by @epicuricloudIngredients:• 2 Tbsp coconut or olive oil• 1 cup flour• 1 Tbsp dried catnip (optional, but Moose says not optional 😼)• ¾ cup finely shredded carrot• 1 large egg• Cold water (as needed).Directions:1. Preheat oven to 375℉. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.2. In a medium bowl, mix oil and flour with your KitchenAid Go™️ Cordless Hand Mixer until sandy.3. Stir in catnip and carrots. Mix in egg (I did 2!). Add a little water if the mixture is too dry and is not holding together. Add a little flour if the mixture is too wet and sticky.4. Roll out dough on a floured surface to ¼ inch thick. Sprinkle dough with additional flour as needed. Prick dough all over with a fork and use pizza wheel or knife to cut into ½ inch squares.5. Arrange squares on prepared baking sheet. Bake for 12 mins or until started to brown. Let cool before serving.

#PretendCookingShow: Grilled Roast Chicken🍗. I’m sure this is cheating 57 ways, but the broth! Yum. .Grilled Roast Chicken by @clarkbar for @nytcookingIngredients:4 tsp kosher salt1 tsp black pepper½ tsp chile powderZest of 2 lemons1 whole chicken (3½-4lbs), patted dryExtra-virgin olive oil4 garlic cloves½ yellow onion, sliced.Directions:1. Combine salt, pepper, chile powder and lemon zest. Rub the chicken inside and out with salt mixture. Place chicken on a rack set over a baking pan to catch any drips, refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.2. Heat a gas grill, or light a charcoal grill for indirect heat (meaning pile the coals on one side of the grill, leaving the other side empty).3. Place a cast-iron skillet on the grate directly over the coals. Cover the grill, and let the pan heat up for 10 mins. (Jen note: this would also be delicious in the oven, 425℉, check at 45-60min, roast until 160℉!)4. Rub chicken with oil and place it breast side down in the hot skillet. Cover grill and cook 5-7 mins, until the breast is seared and golden.5. Carefully flip chicken and cover the grill again. This is when I add garlic, onions, and lemon wedges. Continue cooking until the underside of the chicken is starting to brown, 10-20 mins. Make sure skin doesn’t get too dark; it will continue to brown even as it cooks over indirect heat.6. Move skillet to the unlit side of the charcoal grill, or turn down the burners on gas grill underneath the pan. Cover grill and continue to cook until the bird is cooked through, 10-25 mins. Keep your eye on the grill heat as you cook! If you have a thermometer it should stay around 450℉.7. Transfer chicken from the skillet to a cutting board.8. Yum.
