Denise Richards and Aaron Phypers are parting ways after six years of marriage.

According to court records accessed by E! News, Aaron filed for divorce in Los Angeles on July 7.

The divorce petition states "irreconcilable differences" as the cause for their split and marks July 4, Independence Day, as the official date of their separation.

Aaron is also requesting spousal support as part of the divorce settlement.

E! News has reached out to both Denise and Aaron for a statement, but neither has responded. The announcement was initially reported by TMZ.

This move follows comments from Denise's eldest daughter, Sami Sheen, who shares her father Charlie Sheen with Denise. A few months ago, Sami indicated there were issues within the blended family.

On the Casual Chaos with Gia Giudice podcast on April 13, the 21-year-old stated, "We're not very close. We rarely spend time together or communicate."

Despite the distance, Sami mentioned she continues to support her mother's marriage, saying, "He makes her happy."

Just a month before the divorce was filed, Denise, who is also mother to Sami's sister Lola Sheen (20) and adopted Eloise Richards (14), spoke positively about her relationship with Aaron.

In a March interview with Bravo's The Daily Dish, the 54-year-old actress, married to the entrepreneur since 2018, shared, "We love being together. He's my best friend, and we genuinely enjoy each other's company."

Denise highlighted the significance of dedicating quality time to each other, suggesting, "Even having one night a month as a staycation can greatly benefit relationships, especially for couples with children."

She emphasized that maintaining romance and reconnecting regularly has been crucial for their enduring love.
