Beloved Nip/Tuck Star Julian McMahon Passes Away at 56

The entertainment community is bidding farewell to Julian McMahon.

The acclaimed actor, recognized for his roles in Nip/Tuck, Charmed, and FBI: Most Wanted, passed away on July 2 at his residence in Florida, his wife Kelly McMahon reported to Deadline. He was 56 years old.

In a statement released on July 4, Kelly expressed, “With a full heart, I share the news that my cherished husband, Julian McMahon, peacefully departed this week after a courageous fight against cancer.”

Kelly fondly remembered Julian, whom she married in 2014, describing him as a man who “embraced life wholeheartedly.”

“He cherished his family, friends, his professional endeavors, and his supporters,” she added. “His greatest desire was to spread happiness to as many people as he could.”

She concluded, “We seek understanding and support during this period to grieve privately. May everyone who found joy through Julian continue to experience happiness in their lives. We hold dear the memories we shared.”

Julian's portrayal in Nip/Tuck earned him a Golden Globe nomination in 2005 for Best Actor in a Television Series Drama. Additionally, he made a significant impact on the silver screen as the antagonist Dr. Doom in the 2005 film Fantastic Four and its 2007 sequel, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

The actor, who shared a daughter named Madison with his ex-wife Brooke Burns and was previously married to Dannii Minogue, most recently featured in the Netflix series The Residence portraying Australian Prime Minister Stephen Roos, a role that resonated personally as his father, William McMahon, served as Australia's Prime Minister in the early 1970s.

Despite spending his final years in the United States, Julian maintained a strong connection to his Australian roots.

“My spirit is inherently Australian. That part of me remains untouched,” he told Female.com.au in 2007. “I cherish my upbringing and wouldn't trade it for anything.”
